Lehi was a prophet who wanted to serve the Lord. Little did he know what that would entail in his life. He was told by the Lord to leave his home, friends, wealth, etc. to preserve his family from what was to come in Jerusalem. He obeyed. His family didn't all want to go and even murmured all along the way. When they arrived in the promised land (which was quite the difficulty, not a smooth path), and Lehi was nearing the end of his life, he taught his family that the Lord wants us not just to do the right thing, but to CHOOSE to do the right thing. And he said, "I have chosen the good part". I think that is exactly how I feel. I know I don't always do the right thing, I make many mistakes, I sin. But I want to choose the right thing. I WANT TO CHOOSE THE GOOD PART. And I want all my loved ones to do the same. I think that is why I love Dave so much, he chooses the good part. Also my dad. Diana raising a family unto the Lord. And watching Ben and Cierra choose marriage. It brings me to tears to think of those I love who choose the good part. So wonderful. We are all facing choices daily. CHOOSE THE GOOD PART.
