In the 1980s I wasn't too good at taking pictures, but I have a few of some of my favorite friends. Right from the beginning, Debbie was so good to me. She is two years younger than me, but we enjoyed being together. One of her brothers is my age, and he was a good friend, too! They had a large family with lots going on. Debbie has an amazing voice, and I loved hearing her sing alone, with my brother Randy, or at Stake Dances! She and her friend Connie always made me feel like a big sister. I also had a group of wonderful friends at school. Connie (a different one!) always would make me feel like she would stand up for me, and be true. I still keep in contact with her and I treasure her friendship. Lisa, who happened to marry Connie's brother, was my neighbor and would give me rides to school in her Corvette! I loved her family and they were always kind to me.
And all the gals that went to Prom together were fun! I think being a member of the LDS church was something new to them, and I wanted to show them I was just a normal person, but I didn't drink or party, which was a big part of their socializing. I somehow was able to be friends, probably because they were such good people. I really learned so much from this sweet group of young ladies.
