Sisters

As a child, I wanted a sister so badly!  I tried to beg my parents to house a "Lamanite" sister when that was an option even! I had cousins who lived nearby and I was so glad to have them.  But somehow, the thought of someone who shared a room, shared parents, shared mealtimes, trips, and other family events was so prominent in my wishes.

Well, it never came to be.  I did get very close to my cousin, Nancy, and my other cousin Carolyn.  And I have always been friends with Karen Gundersen (Luke) even to this day!  My neighbor Tina, was sisterly to me.  In 7th grade, I met a sweet friend, Melodie Marsh.  It was then that I thought up a great idea!  I could CHOOSE my own "sisters".  Of course it wouldn't be a true blood-related or adopted sister, but I could still get and give the same to whomever I chose.  And thus, in my life, I have chosen a few wonderful sisters!  And I also received some amazing sisters-in-law, a perfect daughter, and others who have blessed my life.

For the next few posts, I will focus on a "sister" and highlight how she has been an influence in my life.
