Hands

This Christmas week will be wonderful (I am hopeful!).  We are visiting our children in Santa Cruz California.  We have already had a few Christmas events with our Son, our Father's, and a Zoom family party.  I love this time of year, even if it is different.

I was peeling a butternut squash and sliced my finger.  As I prepared the rest of the meal, I realized how much my hands do.  I have had broken thumbs, and other hand ailments, but somehow this small cut reminded me to be thankful for my hands.  They do so much for me.  I take them for granted, even as I type this.  I can rub my husband's hair, drive a car, clean the house, bring someone something, open doors, watch TV, use my phone, wave, play the piano, and on and on.  I am grateful for these hard working hands.

Then I thought of the Savior's hands.  Those that were pierced for me.  Those that would reach out to me all the day long to Come Unto Him.  I am SO GRATEFUL for those hands.  That is why Christmas is so special to me, because of Him, and his hands.
