My handstitched quilt

I started this quilt in August of 2010. I wanted to do something that I enjoyed along the way, and didn't just want to FINISH. I had no deadline, and I didn't know Diana was pregnant yet!

I worked on piecing the top, and then found some stencils to make my pattern for the stitches.

It's hard to see, but I used crossed lines and flower petals in the nine patches and sashes.
And then another rope like pattern on the edges.

Thanksgiving and Christmas were my break periods. I just let it sit.... But then I caught the bug again, and when I got close to finishing, I got a little excited--I know I wasn't in it to finish, but it is so fun to see it done! Then I did the binding, and ta da! It is now off to San Francisco for a soon-to-be little boy to enjoy. He won't be too critical of my stitches! This was a fun project, and now I will start another one with no deadline...
